Our Destinations » Cheltenham
Cheltenham is a beautiful spa town nestled between the Forest of Dean, the Malvern Hills and the western edge of the Cotswolds. This surrounding countryside provides stunning backdrops for a wide range of outdoor pursuits whilst the streets, squares and terraces of the Town are home to numerous stylish shops and pavement cafes, as well as some rather good restaurants. When you also consider the racecourse (for a day at the races), the luxury spas, and not forgetting the music and literary festivals, it's easy to see why Cheltenham could be the perfect destination for you and your group.

The centre of Cheltenham is famous for it's Regency town houses which dominate the town's tree lined streets and the famous Promenade (one of the Country's best shopping thoroughfares). The town is home to a wide variety of excellent shops from small boutiques to famous designers, and there's plenty of places for weary shoppers to rest their legs and recharge their batteries. If you're looking for more serious relaxation, why not pamper yourself with a spa visit and a treatment or two? Maybe spend some time in the hydro pool followed by a facial and a back massage, sure to ease the stresses and strains of everyday life (or even a day at the shops).
Cheltenham has a very contintenal vibe, right through the winter months people sit outside the pavement cafes, sipping hot chocolate and watching the great and the glamourous pass by. Moving indoors, why not sample some local produce either catered at your cottage or at one of the area's many top restaurants? One such place has two michelin stars, one of only ten in the UK, but if the purse strings won't stretch, there are a number of other fantastic dining places just waiting to tantalise your taste buds (and the wine's not bad either). And as you would expect the nightlife is superb, with a number of cool bars and hip clubs but be warned, dress to impress…
With the Cotswolds, the Forest of Dean, and the Malvern hills right on your doorstep, Cheltenham is the perfect destination for those seeking some outdoor adventure. Maybe you fancy kayaking or canoeing, or for more traditional country pursuits the area has good shooting and fishing as well as excellent walks for the ramblers amongst you. The area is well served for golf courses but the most popular activity by far, is meeting the great outdoors on horseback, probably hacking your way towards lunch at a country pub.
For thrills without the spills a day at the races could be just your thing. Aside from the Gold Cup, Cheltenham race course has meets throughout the year all of which have their own glitz and excitement. The opportunity for a flutter or two is enjoyed by most but even without direct involvement, the sheer spectacle makes it a day to remember. There's also the opportunity to arrive in style, lunching your way through the surrounding countryside, all viewed through the window of a beautifully restored steam train.
In Cheltenham everything is done with style and class, and it is a destination which offers extensive opportunities for both rest and relaxation, and excitement and adventure. From it's position by the Cotwolds, to the thrill of it's race course, to it's award winning restaurants, Cheltenham can satisfy your demands and will exceed your expectations, visit it now.
