Cheltenham is a beautiful spa town nestled between the Forest of Dean, the Malvern Hills and the western edge of the Cotswolds. This surrounding countryside provides stunning backdrops for a wide range of outdoor pursuits whilst the streets, squares and terraces of the Town are home to numerous stylish shops and pavement cafes, as well as some rather good restaurants. The centre of Cheltenham is famous for it's Regency town houses which dominate the town's tree lined streets and the famous Promenade (one of the Country's best shopping thoroughfares). Maybe you fancy kayaking or canoeing, or for more traditional country pursuits the area has good shooting and fishing as well as excellent walks for the ramblers amongst you. The area is well served for golf courses but the most popular activity by far, is meeting the great outdoors on horseback, probably hacking your way towards lunch at a country pub.

Aside from the Gold Cup, Cheltenham race course has meets throughout the year all of which have their own glitz and excitement. The opportunity for a flutter or two is enjoyed by most but even without direct involvement, the sheer spectacle makes it a day to remember. There's also the opportunity to arrive in style, lunching your way through the surrounding countryside, all viewed through the window of a beautifully restored steam train.
