The historic city of Norwich is dominated by its magnificent Norman cathedral, boasting the second tallest spire in the country and an amazing 1,200 carved stone roof bosses – one of the greatest art treasures of medieval Europe. Norwich is proud of its past and present status. Its ancient buildings and city wall remains make it the most complete medieval city in Britain; though today, as East Anglia’s capital, it has all the modern and sophisticated trappings you’d expect of a mid-size city.

If you are looking for diverse cultural activity and a continental atmosphere then head to The Cathedral Quarter - a beautiful area where you can wander and soak up the history of the city; relax in its green spaces; eat in one of the many cafes and restaurants or visit the unique shops. In the evening you may want to head to the Prince of Wales Road area home to Norwich’s many bars and night clubs, perfect if you want to dance the night away.
Surrounding Norwich is the amazing beauty and tranquility of the Norfolk countryside and most notably the Norfolk Broads. This unspoilt landscape plays host to many outdoor pursuits, maybe you fancy hiring a boat for a day, visiting some lovely pubs as you meander through the waterways. Though a word of caution: if you’re the hen and your friends ask you to wear a captain’s hat and beard probably best avoided (otherwise you could become a viral hit like the poor Swedish Groom that fell foul of his friends prank).
