A university town, Sheffield has developed a cosmopolitan centre with shops, cafes, restaurants and bars catering for all budgets.
Beyond the city fringes, you will discover national parkland dotted with stone built villages, pretty market towns and every imaginable outdoor activity. Derwent Water is spectacular and The High Peak is breathtaking. There are miles of pristine national parkland: you could trek on horseback across heather-carpeted moors, there are nail-biting climbs up grit stone edges… whatever your ideal day in the country, you’ll leave exhilarated (and pretty exhausted).
