We all know the problem: you're a group of friends always promising to meet up but rarely managing it. You may live hundreds of miles from each other, or you may live next door but your busy home lives, work etc, always seem to get in the way. You need to make the commitment to get away for a few days but then comes the hassle of deciding where to go, and what to do when you get there? This is where Acacia comes in. Our website gives suggestions on where to go and what to do. Once you've got some ideas and some dates, contact Acacia, and between us we'll design your perfect break. We call these breaks Feast of Friends because we organise everything and leave you to catch-up and make the most of each other's company.
A typical Acacia Feast of Friends break would consist of:
Friday afternoon/evening - arrive at one of our lovely cottages, unload, then depending on the season, either move to the garden where you can have a barbecue with a few drinks and some fun in the sun, or in the winter, a gourmet meal can be brought to you, then chat and maybe play some games around an open fire (either at the cottage or at a cosy local pub).
Saturday morning - wake up, cook breakfast then head out for some fresh air and exercise. You could try a cliff-top walk, or if there are golfers amongst you maybe they'll fancy a round whilst the non-golfers could spend the morning in a spa enjoying a treatment or two before the whole party meets up for lunch. More adventurous groups might spend the morning surfing, pony-trekking, climbing or coasteeering.
Saturday afternoon - you can eat lunch back at your cottage or in the summer a picnic can be provided. Alternatively you may prefer the cosy atmosphere and gourmet delights of a country gastro-pub.
Saturday evening - get dressed-up and head out for dinner, if there's anything to celebrate this is the time to order the champagne and offer a toast. You may spend the evening in the restaurant or you may prefer to head on elsewhere for a few more drinks (recommendations and reservations can be provided).
Sunday morning - get-up, have breakfast, maybe have a stroll around the village or a ramble in the country, picking up the papers on the way back. Relax and chat in the cottage for a while, maybe go for lunch, then all head home. PLEASE NOTE: Check-out times are normally between 12pm-1pm but can be as early as 10am; this will be confirmed when you book but please ask if you are in any doubt.
