At Acacia Cottages we want to encourage people to get out and enjoy the beautiful countryside that makes Britain truly unique. We want people to discover and appreciate what’s on offer and, as importantly, by getting you all out there, support the businesses and livelihoods of the communities that safeguard our rural heritage.
One company that’s done more than most to promote a sustainable future for our countryside is RIVER COTTAGE, with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall spearheading their campaign for greater emphasis on organically farmed, locally grown produce and thrifty production methods. We at Acacia Cottages are delighted to be able to offer evening events and daytime courses at RIVER COTTAGE HQ (Park Farm) as part of our celebratory breaks – so if you’re interested in a special birthday to remember or a unique experience for a hen party, read on...RIVER COTTAGE HQ is located on the Dorset / Devon borders just a few miles from the market town of Axminster (direct mainline with London Waterloo - 2 hours 40 minutes).
For groups of 8+ we can offer evening events with canapés and cocktails on arrival, followed by an informal chat with a RIVER COTTAGE chef on the evening’s menu and the providence of the ingredients. This is followed by some fine dining (almost always with a few lesser known ingredients), and all in the privacy of your own sitting / dining room of RCHQ’s newly renovated farmhouse, complete with open fire. The organiser or birthday boy/girl or lucky hen will also receive a signed Hugh cook book. There’ll even be a tractor trailer ride for that authentic farm experience!

Saturday Nights @ RIVER COTTAGE
We specialise in breaks for six or more people and the minimum required for a private weekend evening experience is eight however, if one, two or more of your party would like to attend one of the daytime courses then this can be included in your package. Please note that at weekends the private evening events and daytime courses can book up many months in advance, so please be quick! Also note that our holidays can consist of more than accommodation and a trip to RIVER COTTAGE; so if you want to go horse-riding or surfing, or if you fancy a night out, or want a caterer to provide a dinner party in your cottage, please just ask, we're very happy to help. We have the knowledge and experience to make your weekend getaway effortless and just a little bit special.
