Tee Off
People have often requested golf as an activity and we thought it deserved its own section and it wasn't long before this led to our golf break packages which we've called Tee Off. What we have found with our clients is that a golf break is really about getting away with friends for a few days using golf as an excuse. So we've visited our destinations checked out the local golf clubs, and chosen the best courses which will accept non-members.
We expect our golf clients to, in the main, bring their own clubs, have a handicap certificate, dress appropriately and respect the rules and traditions of the clubs to which we send them. Acacia Cottages will typically provide our clients with:
- Two or three night's accommodation in their own self-catering country cottage
- Dinner delivered to your cottage
- Two rounds of golf
- Two meals out, a lunch and dinner
A typical Acacia Tee Off weekend package might be:
Friday afternoon/evening - arrive at one of our cottages and unload. Your dinner will be delivered to your cottage, then depending on the season, either move to the garden for a few drinks, or in the winter, set-up around an open fire (in the cottage or at the local pub) and chat 'til the wee small hours.
Saturday day - wake up, cook breakfast then head out for a day on the course (if you'd like the challenge of a links course Tenby is particularly fine). Lunch is provided in the clubhouse. Depending on your requirements transfers can be included to and from the course, useful if you want a few drinks in the bar afterwards.
Saturday evening - once you're back at the cottage, get freshened up then head out for dinner (cue stories of "I was this far from the pin" or "I can't believe I lost six balls on one round").
Sunday morning - get-up, have breakfast, go for a walk, read the papers, maybe go for lunch, then all head home.
Remember with Acacia you don't have to stick to golf, you may fancy 18 holes in the morning then a spot of wine-tasting in the afternoon. Alternatively you may have some people with you who don't play golf in which case the golfers could head out to the course and the non-golfers go fishing, or shopping or to a spa for a few treatments. You decide how to combine these activities however they are subject to availability so do check your destination and call us to check the dates.
