Most famous for their stunning coastlines, the rugged cliffs and beautiful beaches are excellent backdrops to a multitude of watery activities such as surfing and kayaking. Inland, Exmoor and Dartmoor offer numerous opportunities for the more traditional country pursuits including horse-riding, clay shooting and golf.
This area is also a Mecca for gastronomes boasting some of Britain’s best vineyards, numerous fabulous restaurants and seafood to die for (not forgetting to mention River Cottage). For a relaxing drink or two the area is full of lovely country pubs and in addition to these, many of the smaller market towns have continental style café bars, whilst the larger towns such as Weymouth and Exeter have a greater array of night time options.
